Their business is fundamentally and practically exploitative yet they decide to pay him, feeding them a fortune that’ll no doubt be used to bring the joys of debt slavery to the rest of the continent. The author didn’t even consider the idea of protesting, running away or even quietly turning every member into a werewolf with his magic ball.
The author is so thoroughly lacking in imagination that I can’t imagine getting anything more from this than fan service and throwaway villains.
Wonder why he didn’t use the Werewolf in the cockatrice fight.
