I agree. The MC is stupid. First he was asked for one boa, so why give immediately both? Then he has many means to get a lot of money. He could even have paid the debt with pepper.

the last few chapters have kinda been putting me off, he went from punch first ask questions later which is also not right to weak simp who bows to corrupt and vile merchants just because they have paper signed by an even more corrupt and vile asshat. Even the old man merchant is pretty scummy, and they try to play it off and make him seem good when short time ago he was perfectly happy to let the orphanage be taken and kids taken to be slaves as “assets” and let the town devolve into the hellscape they portray it as, all in the name of Profit. in that position i would 100% be purging that merchant and several henchman, (like the big guy who was gunna squash a kid for bumping him), might try to soldier on for a few more chaps but if they suddenly good guy those bastards its a HARD Drop for me.
water pump is smart but killing them and then killing the lord then killing the guild is like max 200 lives end them all and be the demon
