Is it just me that thinks he’s wording this weirdly, like I did it once, but not again?

There’s a lot that’s dumb about his system. Which is great, because it fits with his character so far, which is earnest but not too bright. Also because the author didn’t do the usual ‘he meant well so it all worked out fine’, but recognized that problems would arise and made some realistic examples. For a manga that started out very silly, this has become a surprisingly immersive world.
The medals were unnecessary. Just pay them and set rules.
Instead of ‘giving’ them medals, he should be ‘paying’ them for the work they do for the village. They all work equally hard, so they all get paid the same. A sensible value should have been decided on for the ‘token’ from the start, along with the value of ‘things’ they could be exchanged for. As for legalising betting/gambling and availability of booze on demand… really dumb! He’s introduced the seeds of crime and corruption into his little Garden of Eden.
Good job MC. Introducing capitalism leading to alcoholism gambling and prostitution.
