And just like that, the story stopped being interesting. Le sigh.
I don’t understand people’s obsession with bringing modern technology in fantasy-medieval settings. On another note, I also can’t see how an Alchemist would be able to create a gun.
Since it’s a weapon with multiple parts that work together, a smith, gunsmith, metalworker or engineer would be the only “jobs” that could logically produce / create a pistol.
I was really enjoying this story too…But too many stories nowadays have this stupid trope of bringing modern weapons into medieval settings and destroy their own fun factor in the process.

A gun IS alchemy… and physics… of course it’s possible.
There have always been guns in history, but they were always custom made and kept secret and a hidden weapon of smart people.
Explosive materials of any kind typically have been banned and outlawed in history because of how dangerous they are to authority & ruling powers…
So most kingdoms or civilizations that openly started using them were ganged up on and exterminated by all neighbors.
