Guns aren’t really an impossibility since he’s from another world and the system that brought him over had to connect to that world, he’s also aware of their existence so it’d make sense for it to be possible.
What the author shouldn’t do is make them a world breaking invention. Against low to mid-level monsters and average people like the kingdom’s soldiers? Sure, make them effective but any upper-mid+ monster and skilled fighter should have a way to counter it. whether it be by agility/reaction time, magic barriers or just tough skin because unless the bullets are magic enhanced, they are chucking a relatively small object in a straight line really quickly.
If the guns were reliant used as a tool to condense raw mana or even elemental mana and fire it at enemies then it makes more sense. or make bullets with enhanced attributes like penetration
