A brief description of the manga Itai No Wa Iya Nanode Bougyo-Ryoku Ni Kyokufuri Shitai To Omoimasu:
I don’t hate games, but the pain is a little… no, I hate it very, very much. Oh! Would it hurt less if I threw all my glasses in defense? Then this is the only place I can throw them? Right? It’s very hard to get strong in defense. But I can do it!

This is honestly one of my more favorite manga on here, I read it back in 2022 and kept up with it when the updates dropped. It continues entertain me even after all this time.
Story. It fairly simple, MC is not a gamer but becomes one and joins friend in a VR MMORPG (one of those futuristic ones that actually puts you into the world). MC doesn’t like pain so she chooses a highly defensive class and puts everything in defense. This eventually leads her to be accidentally overpowered as she discovers exploit after exploit while the devs do their best to try to nerf her while not breaking their game. It can be easy to see where some things are headed in, but most of the time you can’t really predict what the MC is gonna do next.
Characters. Characters are pretty fun and are given more personality for what they can afford for a “VR game” genre but the main focus is on the MC.
The best way I can describe her is comparing her to Goku from Dragonball. A kind natured individual who’s not the brightest in most things but seems to excel in fighting and strategy. She often comes up with more unconventional methods of fighting which tends to lead to her finding the exploits that make her overpowered. Her kinder nature often leads her on quests that not a lot of other players take and are typically forgotten, also leading her to older abilities that make her that much stronger.
Action. Action is very well paced and easy to follow. Designs are fairly soft looking but not so much where you can’t sense the power behind things without having to be edgy. Maple’s designs are especially well done and honestly pretty cool at times.
All in all I’d recommend it. I’ve certainly enjoyed it so far.
