They want to give more stuff to king to get THEVKEY?! He will not listen AGAIN. They need to threat him with sword. Why characters in this story are almost always smart but dumb in inportant moments. It is annoying I hate it

Holding a dagger to the king’s throat was out of line but advancing on the king with a drawn sword is not; that is pure self serving sophism. Besides it’s just golden rule after sending multiple assassins and forcing multiple deadly situations, it’s hardly out of line. When the king declares war on you how can he be surprised if you strike back?
