When MC can’t even game over himself, he had to find a way to grow stronger, so that he can curcumvent the world’s demise and he coldly calculated one of the most twisted and, it seems, effective way to do it.
He can’t really confide in anyone in the regressions, because, first off, anyone would think he’s crazy when he would talk about the regression stuff, I bet. Second off – even if he did find a monocum of solace and try to formulate a plan with the one he confided in or someone else they knew, who would know how to help, that would be another time consuming undertaking, that would make more people know, then potentially the demons knowing, then them knowing that the demons knew, and then that whole vicious circle shebang, where, most likely, the ones MC is most attached to, would suffer a fate worse than death to teach MC a lesson. That would only make him despair even more, when he’s already at rock bottom, as he watches world’s demise repeat itself infront of his eyes over and over again. Third off, when he would see them in the next regression, it would trigger his PTSD of the previous one, thus making him not want to approach them not to suffer another heartbreak and “waste his time doing something inefficient”.
So then, what would you think he is supposed to do in these curcumstances, if not this answer he arrived at? Let himself go completely off his rocker and only THEN realise he had that option?
