its good the mc doesnt recklessly believe he will alway revive

also, the difficulty seems way off. how is anyone going through this for the first time supposed to ever survive? this updated version is insane but it was almost impossible to survive in the first place

“The number of souls required is different for each skill.” is a crooked phrasing.
It is (high-)school level continuity, kinda.

If you take that statement to the extremity of “truest”, that would mean a single skill has 1, another one 2 and so on as requirement. Then, there would be a skill with a cost of the amount of skills in existence.
If they introduced it as a rank of some kind, that would conveniently refute that logic from square one.
