Izumi Shiori. Reaching out for connections and belonging is totally natural for all human beings. It’s also a risk, as there are many bad apples in the human bushel. The worst are the sociopaths who charm to get what they want, but have zero empathy. One way to shield yourself and lessen the psychic pain is to realize that:
1) you can learn from your mistakes so you don’t repeat them, and
2) “everyone who turns you down, means you are one step closer to finding a boon companion.”
