this reminds me of a 2nd Ed AD&D game i played where the wizard sent thier new and yet unfamiliar, Familiar to find one of the party members and when the bird found him (he was hiding in a tree) the bird started to doing the KAAA KAAA that ravens do. the rouge killed this random bird, then the wizard had to make a save Vs death and failed and died … as soon as i saw the giant bird i thought man it would be funny as hell if they killed that bird and the teacher might learn to not attack kids even for a lesson
