Summary

An enormous cave system known as the Abyss, is the last unexplored place in the world. No one knows the depths of this titanic pit, inhabited by strange and wondrous creatures, full of mysterious ancient relics whose forgotten purpose has yet to be rediscovered.
Generations of bold adventurers came to be known as “Cave Raiders”, all drawn by the cryptic depths of the Abyss.

In Oosu, the town at the edge of the Abyss, lives an orphan girl named Rico who dreams of becoming like her mother: A great Cave Raider determined to solve the great mystery of the pit. One day while exploring its murky depths, Rico stumbles upon a little boy, who she discoveres is a robot.

My opinion: Though cooking is not a main part in this manga’s story, but the way of how food was prepared, cooked and eaten, how those children put their efforts, even risk their live to get the meal, along with the way they enjoyed the feast is the most amazing to me.
This manga turn others isekai cooking manga into picnic journey with food made at home from the ingredients they get from the market next door.

This manga is subversive by nature, it draws you in with beauty and adventure, but danger lurks around every corner. That being said, it is an amazing piece of fiction, but it is not for the faint of heart.
