what the hey? didn’t he just had his birthday not too long ago? It’s already been a year already?
I feel like the plot is being dragged out as this isn’t even a place the mc should be anymore. He used to be in the holy land the upper echelon of powerfully people and he would have been the most powerful with the Book of Nine Secrets – Nine Serenities Secret Scriptures which is why he was killed in the first place bc of that book. The story is fantastic so far but hopefully in the next arc we can actually see some cultivation and story progress as I stated before they are dragging out this saga of taking over the country for far too long now.
Its his exit strategy.

ok why do so many things use the trope of “oh it’s burning through the table, it’s poison!!” that’s not how poison works unless you want them to a) be able to tell immediately b) die a mediumly fast death but a maximumly painful one
