why do i get the feeling the kid is behind something, like i don’t think that’s her mom and dad, like maybe they are a lot older and are playing house with the mom and dad.

I think MC should at least get some gear with spirit stat on it.
That should let him use necromancy magic. Won’t be able to summon an army of undead but might be able to use stuff like debuffs or bonecrafting spells to make fighting easier. Just make sure your final strike is physical damage.
