Between <Mercenary Enrollment> and <God of Blackfield>, I will have to say the realism and combat is much better with <GOB>, especially when it comes to knife fights where Kang Chan (mc of GOB) fights like a real soldier, applies maximum number of stabs and slashes where possible, VS Yu Ijin’s super precise slashes with minimum gore…
That said, <ME> is more heart warming and wholesome.
I noticed two things, not relevant to each other:
- Hamchan is back to being a major, so the previous colonel rank was a bad TL.
- If he’s investigating privately, without consent of the military as stated in the story (because he had to take a temporary leave in order to be there), there’s no way the police would let him hang out at the station to check on the progress of the investigation. He would be warned that he’d be charged with obstructing the investigation, especially since he’s a foreigner. Stupid way of writing him into the story, since it would be more efficient, realistic and believable to just write him in as the US military cooperating with South Korean law enforcement. They are allies after all.
What a crappy way to add unneeded tension to an already tense scenario. It reduces its credibility, and breaks the immersion.
