Alright, theory time! Merlin was originally guiding Arthur, however she was eventually imprisoned inside this place because she wished for a Meliodas that loved her but then began to doubt Arthur because of whatever reason. This Isolde that we see with this “Tantris” is Merlin in disguise after sifting through his memories and has sealed his memories and the spell requires constant and immense mana supplement along with her disguise, thus explaining why she’s always exhausted. This would explain why we don’t see Merlin and it would also explain why this Isolde is always exhausted. In short, how Jericho was to Lancelot, Ban’s son, Merlin is to Tristan, Meliodas’ son.
