Okay…. I may be giving them / the author too much credit here, but…. What if this is a double-play? Inquisitor crashes Dev’s nap time ONLY to tell them Demon King Marmolia reqested they hunt Melje down. In exchange, they get to ask a few questions from Dev and Renee. It neatly slides the target off of the Inquisitor’s back, reinforces his politicing from their first interaction in the city Dev previously crashed, and provides a minor fire-break between the humans who don’t want to deal with the dungeons and the rest of the greedy zealots who are too stupid to learn to leave well enough alone.
