Well, the main manga already let us know how Rudeus left Stepped Ladder, but I hope this side-manga continues by creating fresh prequel stories while part of this party.

Stupid trope where the one with the weapon doesn’t accept defeat without death. Rudeus did the equivalent of shooting him with a rubber bullet, and the acts like it’s still on even though if he didn’t hold back he would’ve blown his head off.
By that same logic, he didn’t win because he never stabbed rudeus. Rudeus could’ve grabbed the swird and shot a stone cannon point blank.
