First hundred chapters are a great story with complex characters and a fully realised fantasy world. Warning, the MC starts as a disgusting pedophile, so you’ll want him to change, and he does. Somewhere around chapter 120 is where the novel went sideways, losing sight of what made it great. The manga makes a lot of changes, hopefully it can fix the story from that point. Strong recommend
