The whole chapter is about Oboro’s POV and by far, especially the Gathering or Race/Concord of Tribe’s side of things, this is one of the most fleshed out villain origin story because we actually see the whole process of him becoming evil, including (and especially) the Magic Mirror only completed his evil as he saw this as a shortcut to get his dream come true.

Know this: This is Oboro’s story before he join the Gathering or Races/Concord of Tribe, hence a root cause of what he did in pre, during and post Fake Master Incident, and the Oni Island Arc chapters (until his karmic downfall) only see the worst of him. I know that nobody will agree with me but ask yourself this: With his obsession of attaining “Absolute Strength”, does he looks like he need friends?

Frankly, Oboro’s desperation of leveling up as a strongest make him on the same league as Kyto/Kaito and Daigo for the same struggle but refuse to understand the limitations-something will definitely become his worst weakness. While his commoner status made him slightly better than Garou/Garuu or Sasha, his own path to evil made him similar to Sionne/Shion and Nano for the same obsession of fulfilling a twisted dream regardless how many lives they have taken along the way. The trivia here is that the one thing these three (Sionne/Shion, Nano and Oboro) have in common is their ill-habits of isolating themselves from their peers so they can concentrate on fulfilling their vile dreams.

1. Sionne/Shion prioritizing so much about her Project Soul Research that she refuses to talk to anyone if “research” is not a topic.
2. Nano holing himself at his workshop and refuse to talk to anyone until his “work” is done.
3. And now, comes Oboro and let me ask people real question, does he look like he want to make friends? Seriously, put some observation skills and you see him often doing his thing solo despite being part despite being together with his first party and been there for some years (?) passing by.
