Wasn’t part of his power being considered “weak” because it was completely dependent on the surrounding “magical power” which wasn’t enough in regular areas, and it was only in The Abyss that it gave him the highest possible summons? It wouldn’t have mattered if it was realized sooner as he never would have been able to utilize it.
Wow, some of the folks actually feel offended by what I had said like how Sionne/Shion’s reaction when Light deems her research was a joke. Perhap people hate reading? Fine, because these are the same people who keep complains too much about something without understanding the context. I do recalled all too well about some “geniuses” insisting that Yotsuha a “bad guy” just because she cussed at Light with some anti-Human slurs before Operation Momotaro. Or the same folks who said nothing about Hei whose appearance and especially acts on Oni Island has indirectly led to Oboro’s evil. I kept getting bingo for predicting stuff.
Personal ranting aside, there is some truth about what I said though. I told people already that Yotsuha’s protectiveness for Ayame is the very reason why Light at least tolerated the Oni Princess and her antics prior to Operation Momotaro. Her regret of trusting the three rats? Light can personally relate because we all know what had happened during the Fake Master Incident. The mass pile of bones reminded him of those who were perished to the mysterious Lvl.9000 guy who destroyed his hometown too
The difference? Yotsuha at least has a home to stay and she is now an undisputed leader of her country. Light, meanwhile, his original hometown has become a graveyard as a memorial for those who were, and Abyss is his new home bow
Now, as a bit of a warm up for the upcoming arc via Yotsuha’s friendship with Light and it will be extremely helpful for a certain princess. Considering Yotsuha never appeared in the orginal Web Novel, this is a big deal. Don’t say I told people so,
- Yotsuha will meet Light again in the summit and she is the only leader who recognize “Light” as Dark, given Chapter 189
- During the Summit, she is one of the five leaders to vote “aye” in supporting Lilith as the new leader of mankind. The “nay” votes are Voros/Volos, the Dragonewt Envoy and the Centaurian High Chief who happens to be Santor’s/Center’s grandad.
- When Ellie the “Tower Witch” appears in the Summit as a “special guest” uninvited, courtesy to the Queen Elf, she is also one of the five elders who defend the Tower Witch from the same three fools who vote against Lilith’s request to become the Queen of Mankind. Ergo, the Summit itself is cancelled.
Now to say what I think about how lucky Yume was when Lilith found her instead of somebody else,
Had somebody else instead of Lilith found Yume, her situation could be extremely dangerous where she would either works herself as child slave or worse, given how some villains like Lief or Gam view about Humans. Goddess Church didn’t do justice either for the Church was busy cosolliding power within the Duchy than helping fellow Humans outside the capital.
In a way, this is just one of two main Aftermath Chapters to close The Oni Island Arc is coming to a close and there are both tearjerking and even heartwarming moments in this chapter ,
The tearjerker part is Yotsuha looking are the boneyard with some empty expression and tells Light that she could’ve save at least some people had she knew the three rats (Utamaro, Mitsuhiko and especially Oboro) and their agenda sooner-something Light personally can relate because of his own experiences about his own two tragedies that impacted him ,
- The Human Boy wouldn’t join the Gathering of Races had he knew how insidious his former party truly were before the infamous Fake Master Incident that forever changed his life-particularly the fact that his so-called “trusted companions” were never his friends to begin with. Or at least sensing some signs about his former friends’ evil before said first tragedy taking place.
- Then, his home village’s destruction only doubling down his own regret because his original dream of becoming an adventurer was to support his family-one that is destroyed because the aforementioned first tragedy and then him spending time grinding levels and mastering the Unlimited Gacha in the very dungeon that was supposed to be his grave, no thanks to the obvious the former party who did dirty on him
Then, the heartwarming part where Yotsuha see something reminiscing her childhood memories with her mom and now that she found it, her late mom’s blacken face is opened and it looks like the princess can move on now without worries. Ya know something else? Light seeing Oni Mommy’s soul sure reminding me of him meeting the soul version of his parents back from Soul Dragon Arc where the late parents actually hoping him to be happy before passing on. I think something like that similar
Not sure about the relationship and even if, a BIG if Yotsuha not as Light’s future wife for various reasons, particularly because female Gacha Summons like Mei and Ellie are VERY iffy towards those who trying to get too close to their lord, at least the Undertaker King himself can be the Oni Miko Princess‘ friend in need. Like, real friend. Dare I say that this friendship will be VERY crucial for the upcoming Summit…
The boneyard alone really give people some chilling concern about what would happened if the Oni God is unsealed and wreck havoc across the world. Even if that monster isn’t near any danger ti the likes of the Masters or even “C”, you can get the idea about how many more become it’s victim if that monster weren’t slain before it can even get free.
Yotsuha’s revenge is basically over after the fall of three rats (Utamaro, Mitsuhiko and especially Oboro) get their comeuppance. Light, on the hand, his journey of vengeance was for from over because not only the last three traitors who happens to be the most privileged ones who use connection and nepotism to get away scot free, but also the Masters who are watching everything from afar. Who knows one of them was responsible for the former hometown’s destruction.
Yume was lucky because she was found like Lilith who then taking care of her for at least 2 years . Els, on the other hand, remains MIA even to this day but if anything bad befall onto this missing elder brother that will become our Undertaker King’s third tragedy, dead or barely alive, he will make the world learn his violent retribution and good luck to those who was responsible for that or future “genius” who come across him.
What ifs??? You can rebuild the world with good or evil intentions. Please I hate time travel stories cause one person can go back and prevent humanity from taking foot. Live in the moment. He can have any bride just say can we talk in my room or he can find a maid naked in his bed sniffing all.
The mother died, but luckily the four-leaf clover bookmark survived being digested and pooped out. 
He just met one of his future brides.
So if he never left his village, his gacha would’ve been worthless — so why is that a dialogue? He’s even explicitly been aware of that since the really early chapters.
And then they smashed.
RIP Yotsuha’s mother.
