A reread version of this part 2 special, we get to see Mei the first summon to defeat the monster and explain the “Gift” true worth due to awakening im a VERY right timing. Through Light’s own story, Mei goes very protective mode and vows to get retribution but Light has other plans and that is taking advantage on his “Gift’s” awaken power in order to train himself stronger, with Mei (possibility others)will be his guide along the way Since he is weak, the MC vows to get stronger . And so, this is a chapter ends with a stinger via Light’s narration about his journey of vengeance begins now.

Now to think about, this is actually one of FEW blessing because while his eight former friends-turned-traitors have nasically gave up searching due to arrogance aa the result of superiority complex, at the very least Light himself is humble enough to admit his own shortcomings and vows to get stronger instead. In hindsight, especially in the world where numbers are everything, his efforts proves fruitful as none of the surface enemies stands a chance against him and he is getting closer to get the truth (at least in the WN and LN version), with his infamous Streak of 19-0 (Light Novel by the end if Demon Kingdom Arc) and he has been never beaten since.
