I think in my opinion, the most underrated and underappreciated aspects of olden dynasties was just how brutal life was. China’s rapid modernization in 30 years has changed a lot.
Feel kinda sorry for Jin now if she has to put up with that 24/7. Was bad enough when my biological father’d make his own parodies of songs or sing in an off-key, but at least with him it was deliberate and limited to when the radio was on. Plus I’m sorry Shi’an, but that’s one of the tackiest outfits I’ve seen in a long time, getting flashbacks to middle school in the early 2000’s.
Still loving the unspoken understanding Jiang He and Pops have now, seeing his ancient equivalent was pretty cool. Quite literally worlds apart there Pops, but she’s adapted pretty damn well over the last fifteen or so years eh?
