Poor guy.
But how can the series continue without the two troublemakers?

Finally managed to get here in time to see a fresh chapter, new job’s been sapping every last bit of time and patience I’ve got left. Feels odd seeing Qin as old as he is, even if logically I know he’s almost as old as Zhao was at the start of the story I still think of him like he was when the kids were still in grade school. Time waits for nobody I suppose, but it’s good to see him thinking about the future so seriously, and for Shi’an to have at least one person in his corner besides Xiaoxiao.
Kinda wish Pinpping was more active in the story, it’s getting increasingly rare to see her pop up since she got married and had a kid. Even if she was usually used as comic relief I miss seeing her banter with Jiang He. Hell, a good number of the side characters are rarely seen anymore, I love seeing the main cast, but sometimes I wonder how Hao, Wangzi and his wife are doing, or even Zhao’s family since his death. But there’s only so much room in a chapter I suppose.
And the day’s finally come, the chicks are leaving the nest. Wish we’d been able to see more of their teen years, especially more of Shi’an and Xiaoxiao’s awkward stabs at romance, but I can’t complain. Just glad to see the story’s still going strong, even if it always feels like the end is just around the corner.
And I suppose that’s all for now, feels good to write out a comment like this again after such a long hiatus. Hope everyone in the US and anyone else that chooses to celebrate it alongside us has a wonderful Thanksgiving, can’t wait for the feast my brother preps, he’s a damn wizard in the kitchen. As always, I hope life’s treating y’all well and that you’re in good health. See you again next chapter or elsewhere on site, whichever comes first. Peace.
