One Piece - Chapter 1150

After the last 2 chapter, this are some questions that have come to my mind. This questions cam up with speculations/possibilities that could have happened in the story and the only way to answer them is to wait for the story to explain more of the history behind the void century. That being said, i do find them interesting so please feel free to answer them with your own thoughts or if you feel they are stupid and are a reach feel free to say so too 😀

• Is Emu using his own power or is he using a Devil Fruit power?… This question comes from the fact that we still don’t know if Devil Fruits existed before the “Void Century” or they came to exist after it. (at least not to my understanding, if it was explained please let me know i would really appreciate it)

• Are the Devil Fruits a by product of his power?…. This question stems on the possibility that Emu’s powers are his own, whether thanks to his own talent or whether its a power related to his species/race.

• Were the original owners of the powers within the Devil Fruits other God’s/species/races that Emu turned in to Devils with his power?…. This question stems from the implication that in the story, some races/species from the past are called God’s, and as we saw in this chapter, Emu’s power to turn people in to Devils does not require the targets permission or willingness to accept the contract, granted it does seem to be implied there are some steps that need to happen before it can take place/activate (seems like some blood/flesh sacrifice is needed, from what i understood but i could be wrong for sure).

• Can Emu’s power activate a persons latent power from their races/species blood?… In the story we know that some races/species have some inherent powers, some of those powers traits are common within their race/species while other power traits are not and only a select few of that species/race get said power or unique trait. That got me thinking that maybe one of emus power effects is that it activates the species latent power trait, i mean look at this chapter the giants got their ancient giant demon horns and got a lot bigger, all traits that only some within their race/species could get, a good example is Loki, he was the only one in Elbaf besides his father to have those power traits and it was explained that only a select few can get that power trait, it was even explained that even if a person was born with that power trait it could take a few generations for said power trait to appear again. (this one is a huge, humongous stretch, i know xD) This got me thinking that this latent power within the species/races is one of the reason as to why Emu hate or is scared of ancient/rare species/races, because of their latent/dormant bloodline powers and him not being able to control them, especially the mixed ones, imagine having two bloodline powers mixing and someone possibly awakening both of them or creating a stronger hybrid of them, and this could be one of the reasons as to why he keeps the world separated, to lower the chances of that happening (besides the ease of controlling the people of the world).

• Does Nika’s Liberation “power/effect” refer to liberating someone from Emu’s control?….. As we know, Nika is referred to as a God of liberation, so could his power/effect interrupt Emu’s control over the Devils under him, allowing them to regain their free will and is the reason as to why Emu hates Nika’s Devil Fruit and wanted it under his control at all costs.

• Was Nika a rebel Devil or the counter species/race to Emu’s race/species?… This question can tie in to the previous one, in my head the thought that Nika and Emu could come from the same race/species does not go away and Nika is more like a rebel of their species and can tie in to his liberation/free will theme or that Nika’s race/species was a natural counter to Emu’s power and Nika’s race/species were the first ones to overpower/break from his control.

• Is the reason why the government/marines search and pay a huge price for Devil Fruits so that the Devil’s power that got away from Emu’s control comes back under his control?…. this question stems from the fact that we know that the government/marines spend enormous resources to find Devil Fruits, at the beginning of the story it natural to think that its so they can bolster their power and are able to fight against rebels/pirates with Devil Fruits, but now with all that’s been shown, their could be another reason which is for Emu to gain control of the Devil powers that got away from his control, while not having direct control over the person with the power, sense they are working for/with the government/marines they would be under his indirect control. (this one clearly depends whether Emu lost control of the original devil fruits power owner thanks to Nika’s power or some other method/reason we will learn further down the story)
