Props to the translator for translating themselves.
One of the themes that i have been seeing for a while in these stories is the scumbag childhood friend. It was only after reading “disqualified human” by osamu desai, adapted into nightmare format by junji ito, that i understood a bit about this trope.
Not going to go into details about “disqualified human”, because that is a book of true horror, but having a toxic friend is far worse than having an enemy.
