Action scenes and battles are so much more entertaining…
When the rules of how they work have actually been explained somewhere before so people can tell whats going on and if what they are doing is actually smart and strategic or not.
Does anyone know?
Are they following D&D rules or some other established power system? Does the book explain it in more detail?
Setup and payoff, and world building rules establishedment, more emotion and immersion when done right…
But far more difficult for writers and opportunity for plot holes if done wrong,
