, None 1 Civilian died during this fight, Just Soldiers …. if you squint your eyes and forgot about that every soldier is apeasant in soldier uniform

The mistake the king made, wach choosing to sacrifice the lives of his oppressed people…
Mostly starving heavily taxed conscripts, who only are there because if they dont come, they are considered traitors and whole familh is “made an example of” dying more horribly than on a battlefield….
Because the king wants to retain power…
Literally could have just ceeded the city, and watched to see how ains rules… or MANY other choices, he’s the king and his word goes, allowing himself to be swayed by the other factions means he’s too weak and doesn’t actually rule the kingdom.
So he’s not actually even sacrificing these conscripts for power, hes doing it for the illusion of power, and face value of the small possibility his kids can turn the horrible situation around…
but also wants his kids to compete… so even his own flimsy force is itself in a civil war…
Aka, the kingdom i more evil than ains atm…
