It’s been a financial fantasy, rather than the usual sword-and-magic story, which was a nice break from the typical cliche – but now it’s just getting silly.
50 quadrillion dollars? That’s 100 times the total wealth of the entire world, today. Even if that was won, it’s still 10% of all wealth in the world – 1/3 of the US, 2/3 of China, or twice the value of the entire nation of Japan.
A private fund worth 4 trillion dollars is also absurd. The largest funds that exist are government run, and the biggest of those is just over a trillion dollars today.
For the time period this comic is set in, divide all the values by between 3 and 5, as well, because this is set back before the massive growth in value.
Not to mention bringing in the whole “Rothschilds control the finances of the world” conspiracy crap (and yes, that was the Rothschild family crest shown). At least make up a new family.
