Lowkey if it was me I wouldn’t have skipped it and started training my body for what will occur in the future then close to the date getting a gun and killing some of the upcoming villains since he seems aware of them. But story-wise I understand cause that pacing would be terrible to execute.
Why skipping if he can gain rewards with tutorial quests ?

Another case of “we need to get to the plot faster”. Stupid, really. So much missed potential to invoke feelings in the reader, to grasp the consequences, raise the stakes and make the MC overcome adversities. The time-skip period in itself could have been a whole-ass manga. They even remade the original. Why not change it to a teaser for a slice of life manga? Stupid.
