Definitely doesn’t look like the elf maid/assassin but with the hairstyle his mother had you couldn’t see her ears, she may have been an elf with covered or pinned back ears (grossly shaved off tragedy back story?). Could be she had disguise magic too. That said I suspect this is actually his grandmother, aunt, or similar.
