I guess he became the blade himself or something like that?
My bet is the blade missing on the sword is gonna be the reason why he’s gonna get along with the Ice Emperor rather than get in trouble, probably meaning the sword accepted him as the rightful owner.

I don’t really get why he’s hiding it from the princess. I’m sure he’ll meet with the emperor and he’ll know what happened and it’ll all turn out well but if he really lost it he probably should’ve discussed that with the princess
