I wonder if their eating and regeneration speed were the same, would this have gone on forever?

The my hunger has been appeased made me think of Zelda. In the manga and the games they were based on, link fought against a lot of enemies that had been corrupted. This gave the same bittersweet feeling in seeing them being able to die at peace, but die nonetheless.
