A lot of the commentors are criticizing the MC accepting the King’s absurd demands. But the MC is thinking about the politics and is not as backed into the corner as the King thinks he is, so he is playing the long game so the other nobles don’t see his future actions as a blatant betrayal to the kingdom.

If the mc didn’t awaken he would be in trouble but he did and the king doesn’t know and that power will decide the battle. The king wants to weaken the mc but his new power will prevent it and the king might stupidly push and that will be the last time.
He dont want to go rebbelion way becasue of three things: first because of the numbers (the king have more soldiers, mages and etc), second is his master who love the king like his own son and in the previous chapters whe see that it was a headache to convice his master to take a side(mc side) and last and most important if happen a rebbelion many will die and ressorces go too so the EMPEROR will use this situation to take over the kingdown. Mc is not a pushover, the thing is Mc holding the kingdown in his back mainly beacause of his family!

Honestly, I’m past the point that I want the king to die. I want him to suffer and see how stupid he is. Then cripple him (like both arms and legs) and lock him up forever. And MC, you already know the demands are unreasonable, yet you say this is the last time just cause you have no evidence? Wasn’t the Sword Duke supposed to be a close mentor to the new King? How have things gotten to this point? I know Duke doesn’t like politics but he should have more understanding of what’s going on.
I like the fact the King is clearly a manchurian candidate that is just being told what to do behind the scenes.
While duke Esperanza DID say that he wasn’t interested in politics, this inaction just goes beyond any reason. What IS he even doing, anyway?
