If these scene keeps going where the Foolish king keeps provoking the Mc and no beating or killing the chamberlain, then there’s no sense to continue reading, MC got poor judgment, and the Duke has no other way to make his king stop the nonsense. Then MC should start clapping the Kings head to wake him up from the brainwashed effect of that chamberlain. Also, MC needs to burry alive or atleast cut his tongue, that chamberlain guy. It’s so obvious as day that his the mastermind of the kings pointless provocations.

This is my personal opinion so to the other readers, don’t take this to heart. At this point, whatever backstory you show about that useless king, I don’t care. Just cut off his head. Even his face while acting smug was annoying. Well at least he realizes that he is a powerless king. Sad that he didn’t realize he was useless though.

Tbf the MC just stood there and internalised his explanation.
He easily could have explained his choice was offer them a path back to the nation and help maintain the nations fighting force, or a massacre in the name of the king.
but instead he waits for the royal adviser to not give much advice at all.

The one under Clavis that now consists of only normal people, no low nobility, no mages, no aura knights… Are you really threatened by your BORDER NOBLE having a bunch of normal people join his territory? when he’s supposed to ward off aggression from the empire which has so many superhumans they outnumber his aura knights.
Meanwhile you just used and abused his military to both guard the capital and take care of said rebels whilst leaving enough force at home.
This king is an idiot, if he wants to kill his own population, order it and let it be on your own hands instead of being a coward ordering ‘impossible’ missions and hoping for their demise.
I’m going to guess that the king will try another ‘impossible’ mission, with the goal of thinning out the ‘rebels’

MC should have brought the 7k back as prisoners and plead for leniency and made the king decree their massacre himself. If he agrees to leniency then MC hand them over to the kingdom forces. It shouldn’t have been his decision.
