i still would win n declare independence which means the sword duke doesnt have to die. then the ppl would know if i would take over i could so my reputation stands and the king looks like a tyrant. more ppl would move to my lands and then the empire would attack n to save them the king would come to negotiate with me for an alliance. because with his training methods all he really needs is time to let all his aura users turn into superhumans
The story can’t move on without the MC being the new king. I don’t see the Duke dying here. That’s a waste. He’s a good character torn between duty and morals.

Legit hoping this is all a scheme that the duke and MC planned to fake out the stupid king or that nobody aid (Agree that this is overdoing it and probably be done smarter).
Most likely the MC will just win the war and overtake the country and because of that he might get some time before the empire comes because he will help on of the other princes to ensure they don’t attack him yet.
i was expecting 1v1 duel of master and disciple to resolve the war, i mean, would he waste so much troops knowing the empire will invade….

Why? that seems like a bad idea as proven by his command for MC’s execution for something MC didn’t do. Or the repeated attempts to kill MC through a forced mission with ‘impossible’ odds.
All in reward for getting him the throne and destroying the corrupt nobles behind the first and second prince.
