Honestly I’m not gonna read 400 chapters of Nightingale getting NTR`ed while she invisibly is forced to watch as his bodyguard. He’s royalty, he’s allow to have mistresses and even illegitimate children. Yet he is romancing like he is in his old world, and doesn’t even exclusively date before proposing. Not to mention the extremely heavy handed communist/socialist tones all over his governing policy. Nationalistic songs not withstanding. If he was just a secondary character I could ignore his governing style and political views but he’s not.
I hate when authors make main characters compete for love. Just like May was given a character to love instead of Flinn, Nightingale should have also been given somebody to love who would return it. There is no need for realistic heartbreak in fiction except for a tragic backstory. I don’t read fiction to see more of the harsh realities of life.
