possible explanation for this,
Arcadia and Earth are in different dimension’s and Arcadia’s timeline flows slower than Earth’s timeline. This means that the years mc spent as “Twilight of the Gods” in Arcadia may equal only a few days/weeks in Earth’s dimension. So in Chapter 2, the Necro God isn’t referring to regressing the timeline, but instead regressing the mc’s body to match the physical age he’s supposed to be around this time on Earth.
But also maybe not mentioning regression at all, which I think most readers (myself included) misunderstood as the mc going back in time, would lessen the confusion imo.
I’m not saying this is fact or anything, just a possible explanation…
