I believe that’s the same bandit who was shot from behind and whose arm is used to bar the door. His arm was eaten by the approaching horde and he rose afterwards. All this implies some zombie lore for this series, which I wonder if it will be consistent.

Maybe ppl will start to develop powers.
X men mutant style in a ‘everyone is passively infected’ type of way but don’t turn until the virus doesn’t massively spread and this guy developed a time power.
And it’s why he went back after dying
