People complaining don’t get the point of the story right now. This part is made for bichir to regain human emotions and finally become a sword master to the same level as Hugo. Hugo said in past chapters that to become a real sword master you need human emotions which bichir had concealed* ( I think that’s the right way to say it ). Right now bichir is growing as a sword master as well as a person. That was also the case in the last arcs for example the orphanage and the blonde girl kid.

Cringe, he cared so little about her that he never made any attempts at telling her that he is alive, but now suddenly he needs to save her?
This would have been such a great opportunity to have him grow as a person, being forced to kill someone that had a bright future because he was being selfish and self-absorbed, this could have been a event of reflection and trauma that leads to personal growth, but instead it turned out to be the standard shonen anime trope of “we will do something impossible with the power of friendship”
alright that’s pretty cringe, vikir shouting “let’s make a miracle together” doesn’t sound like him at all. Especially not for a girl he barely cares about everytime he met up with her as a kid.
