A brief description of the manhwa Reveries of the Moonlight (2025):

When 16-year-old Segun Han, who dreams of becoming a motorcycle racer, returned home one night after a shootout with bikers, he discovered that his parents and older brother had been killed by a vampire. Segun became furious and started hunting vampires! Will he become a vampire or die as a human? A brutal battle between vampires and hunters unfolds in Seoul!

This webtoon is the second webtoon adaptation of the novel series of the same name by Jeonghoon Hong (2002). Segun Han, the main protagonist of this series, is also a supporting character in the webnovel Dreamside (2016) by the same author and its webtoon adaptation of the same name (2016).

Common mistakes in English translation

1. The word “Jinma” (진마, 眞魔, “lord of the vampires”; literally: “true demon”, from 진, 眞, jin, “truth”, and 마, 魔, ma, “devil; demon; evil spirit”) is often mistakenly translated as “vampire”, “demon”, or “horse” (마, 馬, ma), and accordingly, “Jinma Sanyangkkun Silbeseutereu” (진마 사냥꾼 ‘실베스테르’, “Vampire Lord Hunter Sylvester” or “Jinma Hunter Sylvester”) is often mistakenly translated as “Sylvester, a true demon hunter”, “Sylvester, a legendary demon hunter”, “the vampire hunter Silvester”, or “the true horse hunter Sylvester”.

In the works of Jeonghoon Hong, “Jinma” is the most powerful vampire. There are 24 Jinmas in total, each of whom is the head of a vampire clan or holds a similar position.

2. The word “sinbu” (신부, 神父, “a father; a priest”) is often mistakenly translated as “bride” (신부, 新婦, sinbu).
