This series is decent, especially if you have nothing else to read, but it definitely degrades slowly overtime.

The mc reincarnates as his dead friends disciple and has a dedicated group of friends he personally helps out and hangs, along with training the other disciples. The issue is that those friends are pretty regrettable as side characters and have little to no substance at all.

And the mc, as strong as he is, is also extremely cocky (which is fine considering how strong he is). But he acts like that with stronger opponents as well who beat his ass, so it becomes an annoying character trait.

And biggest of all, he was a one of the strongest unorthodox martial artists in his previous life yet every strong enemy he faces he acts surprised or completely bewildered by their martial arts but then proceeds to say “oh they’re pretty weak” or, “to think I’m losing to someone this weak” and proceeds to ass pull a technique he just so happened to have that will one shot them but for some reason decided not to use it up until then.

This just keeps getting better and better! While it does share some vibes with “Return of Mount Hua,” it definitely has its own unique charm.

it is regrettable how similar it is to the return of mount hua specially at the beginning, if it were any other sect more people would give it a fair shot, but we can’t help but compare, and return of mount hua is just a masterpiece.

A real human’s (who has read a bunch of these) opinion: Just finished chapter 18 and it’s pretty dang good. Not bad art, and the MC gives about -3 f*cks about being “righteous”. He’s just trying to fulfill his dead friend’s wish about making the Mount Hua Sect great again.

After the first 10 or so chapters, he goes out into the world and teaches the children what it means to actually experience the Jianghu and not being a p*ssy. He kills people without worry if it’s neccessary, which is very refreshing to read about when most of these KR martial arts novels have b*tchass MCs who just let people go when they try to kill them, only to be schemed against by them later on (sh*t drives me crazy).

People complaining about originality really don’t understand that the whole wuxia/xianxia genre were basically made by 2 authors. The whole wudang/mount hua/hao clan/tang clan, etc. trope essentially all derive from their stories. It’s like the Tolkien of chinese fantasy.
So you bunch of ass see “Mount Hua” and think it’s an unoriginal copy cat while there’s dozens if not hundreds of “necromancer genius of the reincarnated useless noble return regressor using cheat game system” using the same template with the same protagonist with the same haircut with the same generic harem of the same 3-4 women.

The philosophy is actually explained with how the technique works instead of just a long text mixed with element abstract concepts that the author doesn’t know how to connect them together and makes it like nonsensery instead but actually works. So, it’s actually fun reading these technical philosophies.
