i still don’t understand after reading 355 chapters what our skelly main goal is?

  1. To protect the scubbus
  2. To protect his friends
  3. To fight gods
  4. To fight with the empire

I just don’t get it. Conflict between the Union and the Empire, fine. But why do both armies have the same armor ?! The Union has these pipes, acquired through steampunk technology, but then why is it the same for the Empire, which is based on a medieval society ???
