If that crappy stick was all he had, why not pick up the spear or other weapons from the defeated goblins that can deal more damage than the stick? Certainly a jab in the gut should interrupt casting and he supposedly has high physical stats. Or heck just tackle and pummel him.

Also the probability that the shaman attacked every tree beside his is ridicoulus. Even attack both sides from mc position.
