Did you ever see the anime “Outlaw Star” (great show, BTW)? They had something similar to this. 🤔
The fantasy expect into the sci-fi is kinda fun, but it rubs me the wrong way that they landed in this random patch of dirt, that had an underground base or whatever, without ANY fortifications. What is the point? What were they even defending? Why were they so poorly equipped to handle a stampede like that?
That’s like seeing Americans drop their troops right in the middle of an open field in Vietnam, and wishing them good luck.
That just makes me feel like this comic is going to be good to flip through on the toilet, but nothing serious beyond it.

The whole point of having a sergeant is that they have experience so your recruits don’t get slaughtered while running around like idiots.
Also these engagements don’t really make much sense. Even if 19 rookies they have the weaponry to engage melee forces much greater than their size especially in mostly flat open terrain.
