people need to understand that the reason that this merchant guild can act like this is due to what there customers are as they sell high ranking geniuses who have good looks as pleasure slaves now let’s think about there customers these people would need to be extremely rich who can shut up the people who dare question them or fight back for participating in this illegal activity making them a powerful and rich merchant group
agree also, also human trafficking just pisses me off, is there now law enforcement, no power that enforces civilized behaviour, bitch can leech after people over and over again without consequences, ik it’s most likely to edge us to the max until MC takes care of her but still shouldn’t be this way
The more I think about this, the more annoying it gets.
Merchants are tolerated because they provide goods and services. If they are weaker than clans, there is peace and prosperity.
If merchants are stronger than clans, they would bully all clans around and hire them as guard dogs. It would lead to merchants taking power structures and making country serve them, so oligarchy or merchant republic where all shots are called by merchants. It does not seem they are calling all shots in the country, so why is country and clans accepting openly hostile merchant company?
Clans talk with each other and they would take care of this topic, especially if item is life or death question for a clan. Other clans may take a cut, but they would support this. Because other clan may need life saving stuff next time, and then other clans would lend support too. And no merchant company could survive raids on their mines and shipment of goods for long, as that is other option that clan would do.
And selling their best young 100% ice blood guy for 1 year supply… lol, worst offer ever.
Meh, such an unruly merchant guild would have been eliminated long ago.
You can burn other people in negotiations only for so long.
