The pay is about right historically. A gold piece is 20 silvers; a knight in the middle ages had been paid between 1 and 2 silvers a day, so about right.
Half a silver (10 coppers) would be a typical daily wage of most able bodied somewhat skilled male workers. And that’s enough to feed a family for a day and have a copper or two set aside.
Now, consumer goods or anything, really, had been much more expensive back in the day than now, relatively speaking. You had to make everything by hand from scratch. And one day of labor put into anything would be costing at least half a silver plus markup.
