I am pleasantly surprised by the proper bow form used in this chapter. Although it is harder to shoot with the arrow on the same side as a the draw arm, it isn’t necessarily wrong. Though I have no idea why the MC chose bows without arrow guides/rests on them.

Suddenly convenient plot armor appears, he getting +str and +stam when crossing worlds. Probably to address his weak constitution during the ambush earlier.
