this manga is absolute garbage, the writing is garbage, the names are garbage, the lore s garbage, even the idea that genes can somehow turn into armor, why was this so reccomended?

Annoying that they mess up so many details that are in the novel so it looks like he got something others have already found. What he got is a Super God Gene which has not been found before by others and a tier higher than the current highest. This causes him to rethink all gene possibilities and his advantage is knowing these even exist and that they have special properties other genes of the same type do not.
