Now, I really curious. What exactly does the author have against “Hans”?
For those of you, who don’t know about the expression “playing a game of mafia”:
Mafia is a social game, which has risen to greater international popularity in the ’90s-2000s (before year 2000).
It is the predecessor of werewolves or Among us.
As such, the players know a night and a day cycle and act as city counsel by the day, choosing one person to be executed. There are those, who initially got the role of mafiosi. By night, the mafiosi secretly chose their target of killing. The mafia acts under the guise of civility, and has a vote for apparent reasons.
There are many iterations of the game.
A german chat site, “Knuddels” for instance, made it so that the automated chat would give a hint by the system to each player, excepts for mafiosi. They had to craft the resulting show&tell.
This iteration also came with bonus roles like detective or lovers.
In this setup here, where you have two teams of 2 and 3 people, the mafia will always have the upper hand, because their killing vote has (nearly) no chance to friendly fire. A late 2000s meme (before they were called that, actually) implied the realization of the situation resulting in that disadvantageous scheme, whereas the person in the vid exclaimed it in one word: “Mafia!!!”
